The sector for cooperation with the diaspora performs the tasks related to the improvement and institutionalization of cooperation with the diaspora. The Republic of Srpska has recognized the great potential and importance of the diaspora, and therefore strives to regulate the relationship systematically and to improve and strengthen the cooperation and connection with Republic of Srpska citizens in the diaspora.
Concrete ideas about organized cooperation with the diaspora originated several years ago and were first shaped through the organization of two Diaspora Forums. The top-level institutions of the Republic of Srpska then expressed their commitment to regulating the relationship with the diaspora, undertaking relevant activities, and achieving comprehensive cooperation with our citizens and their organizations abroad.
As a next step, the Government of the Republic of Srpska adopted the Strategic Plan for Cooperation with the Diaspora, which specifies several focus areas for the republic institutions, especially regarding the diaspora. The action plan to be adopted will define operational tasks and measures for the achievement of the goals set in the Strategic Plan for Cooperation with the Diaspora.
Cooperation with the diaspora is continuous. Direct contacts and various activities of the Ministry, representatives of republic institutions with the diaspora and our representative offices abroad, offer us the opportunity to hear the views of expatriates, their associations and clubs, to create a strategic framework for long-term cooperation based on their suggestions, and to plan the next activities adequately.
