Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Savo Minić
stated today in Boljanić near Doboj that this location testified to the
ideal of freedom, a value that is and always has been priceless to the Serbian people.
Speaking at the ceremony marking the 82nd anniversary
of "Halyard" (Air Bridge) Operation during WWII, Prime Minister
Minić said that in those years, the Serbian people had been killed without a cause just a few kilometers away and that yet and despite this, Serbs were prepared to sacrifice themselves and everything they
owned for the sake of freedom and their alliances.
"This flag has never been on the wrong side of
history". Prime Minister Minić said and underlined the importance of the
leader such as President Donald Trump who understands history.
"We remain committed to the history of the Serb
people and our ideal of freedom to this day. I wonder if this event would even
be commemorated if this location were in the Federation of BiH", Minić
said. He added that it was up to us to restore relations with friends with whom
we share a common history and to preserve a friendship that lies on brotherhood and the bond created for which the Serbs were ready
to give their lives and for those they regarded as brothers in arms.
The Prime Minister said that Serbia and the Republic
of Srpska were one which is supported by historical records.
"I want us to send a clear message from this
place, it is of utmost importance for us to build relationships with all our
friends who uphold sincere commitment to freedom, anti-fascism and the struggle
against Nazism and all forms of evil", the Prime Minister said and
reiterated that the Serbian people would never find themselves on the wrong
side of history.
