The Government of the Republic of Srpska established today during its 3rd session, following urgent procedure, a set of law amendments related to the Law on Salaries in the public sector of the
Republic of Srpska. The Government established the amendments to the law on salaries of employees in public services in Republic of Srpska, namely, the Ministry of the Interior,
judicial institutions, public institutions in the health sector, culture sector, primary and secondary schools and student dormitories, administrative bodies and higher education sector of the Republic of Srpska.
The reason for passing this set of laws is to increase
the salary coefficients for employees in the public sector, with the aim of
improving the financial situation of employees. Salary coefficients are increased so that all employees achieve a salary increase of 5%, while salary
coefficients for all civil servants and staff of the Ministry of
Interior are increased by 10%.
The proposed legal solutions represent one of the
measures of the Government of the Republic of Srpska that contribute to
economic growth and increase in workers' salaries, as well as to improving economic and social situation of employees in the public sector.
The Government of the Republic of Srpska considered
today the Information on the excise subsidy and decided to waive BAM 0.10 per
liter of petroleum derivatives. The excise tax would be deducted directly at the gas station so that the price of the fuel would be reduced by BAM 0.10 per liter of petroleum derivative.
All legal and natural persons who possess an ID card
issued by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Srpska and who
have Bosnian license plates would have the right to use this subsidy.
The Government of the Republic of Srpska accepted the
Information on the request for financial assistance of the Association of
Pensioners of the Republic of Srpska, for the purpose of implementing the
pensioners' spa rehabilitation project, and has accepted it and has tasked the
Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Labor and Veterans' and Disabled People's Protection to provide funds in the amount of 1,000,000.00 in the Budget of
the Republic of Srpska for 2026 for the stated purpose.
The Government of the Republika Srpska has adopted a
Decision on the number of students enrolling in the first year of first and the second cycle studies in the academic year 2026/27 at public higher education
institutions.
The Decision approves the enrollment of 5,037 students
in the first year of first cycle studies in the academic year 2026/27 at public
higher education institutions in the Republic. Out of this number, 2,574 students
will be enrolled at the University of Banja Luka, 2,183 students at the
University of East Sarajevo, 220 students at the Medical School in Prijedor, and
60 students at the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management in Trebinje.
The enrollment of 1,842 students in the first year of
second cycle of studies in the academic year 2026/27 is also approved. in public
higher education institutions in the Republic, namely 941 students at the
University of Banja Luka and 901 students at the University of East Sarajevo.
The Government of the Republika Srpska has adopted a
Decision on the payment of funds to underdeveloped local government units in the amount
of 750,000 KM.
Funds in the amount of BAM 21,428.50 each are
distributed to the following municipalities: Bratunac, Višegrad,
Vlasenica, Donji Žabar, Kostajnica, Ljubinje, Nevesinje, Novi Grad, Petrovac,
Petrovo, Ribnik, Rogatica, Han Pijesak, Šamac and Šipovo. Also, the following poorly developed municipalities will each receive BAM 21,428.50 and those are:
Berkovici, Vukosavlje, East Drvar, East Mostar, East Stari Grad, Jezero, Kalinovik,
Kneževo, Krupa na Uni, Kupres, Lopare, Novo Goražde, Osmaci, Oštra Luka,
Pelagićevo, Rudo, Srebrenica, Trnovo, Čajniče, and the municipality of Šekovići
will receive 21,431.00 KM.
The Government of the Republika Srpska has adopted a
Decision on amendments to the Decision on determining priority projects from
the public investment program of the Republika Srpska for financing from the
Budget in 2026, with the distribution of funds.
Two more priority projects will be included in the
current year, namely:
- "Purchase and equipping of business premises in
Bijeljina and Prijedor for the needs of the Public Health Institute of the
Republic of Srpska", in the amount of BAM 3,000,000.00 and;
- "Rehabilitation and equipping of the building
of the Public Institution Student Center Trebinje", in the amount of BAM 250,000.00.
