Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Savo Minić
officially opened the 57th International Handball TV Tournament of Champions in
Doboj.
On this occasion the Prime Minister emphasized that Republic of Srpska had a competitive spirit and that organizing a tournament of this
magnitude was showing that the Republic of Srpska was ready to host major
international sport events that go beyond the borders of Europe.
"Here we have representatives from three
continents and this event has our maximum support. I have no doubt that Doboj
will remain recognizable for handball and all the activities that take place
here", Prime Minister Minić said.
The tournament began with a match between the host
team 'Sloga' from Doboj and the German team 'Melsungen', which ended with the
victory of the German team.
The second match tonight is played by Qatar and
Grosist Slovan.
The International Handball TV Tournament of Champions,
which lasts until Saturday, August 15, features six teams: 'Melsungen' from Germany, 'Grosist Slovan' from Slovenia, 'Sporting' from Portugal, 'El Ahly' from Egypt, the National Team of Qatar and the host team 'Sloga' from Doboj.
