Prime Minister of the
Republic of Srpska Savo Minić and Minister of Finance Zora Vidović met today in
Banja Luka with the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund
(IMF) in BiH Andreas Tudyka.
During the meeting, the interlocutors confirmed that the Government of the Republic of Srpska and the IMF had
successful cooperation so far and also discussed possibilities of cooperating on new IMF
programs.
Prime Minister Minić and
Minister Vidović informed the IMF Representative about the state of finances in
the Republic of Srpska. It was acknowledged that Republic of Srpska was
regularly servicing all its obligations, that the deficit was
lower than in many European countries and that its plan was to maintain a low level of debt.
Both Prime Minister Minić and Minister Vidović emphasized that
investments were the main goal of Republic of Srpska and that a large investment
cycle has been planned for the current year. They added that Republic of Srpska highly appreciated the technical asssitance which the IMF was providing and that the Government was
interested in expanding the cooperation with IMF.
The IMF Resident
Representative in BiH Andreas Tudika thanked Prime Minister Minić for the meeting
and stated the openness of the IMF Office for cooperation with the Government and the relevant
ministry.
