The Board of Directors of the World Bank has confirmed
a loan arrangement worth 81.7 million euros for modernization of the main road
Brod na Drini (Foča) - Hum (Šćepan Polje), has been announced at today's meeting
of the Prime Minister of Republic of Srpska Savo Minić and the World Bank Country Manager for Bosnia and
Herzegovina Christopher Sheldon.
Prime Minister Minić expressed his gratitude to the
World Bank for its support in implementation of this extremely important
project that will solve one of the biggest infrastructure challenges in this
part of the Republic of Srpska and significantly improve the road connection
with Montenegro.
At the same time, it was announced that competent
bodies of the World Bank will soon confirm a 30.7 million euro project in the
field of agriculture focusing on irrigation, within the framework of the
previously agreed project to improve the resilience and competitiveness of
agriculture.
The World Bank's readiness to support reconstruction
of the facilities of psychiatric clinics in Republic of Srpska was also
expressed, while in the field of energy their interest in financing a project
to install solar panels on the roof tops of 50,000 households in Republic of Srpska
was confirmed, which will be followed by negotiations with the "Power Utility of Republic of Srpska"
in April this year.
In addition, negotiations on the request of the
Republic of Srpska for financing a project of real estate assessment,
improvement of e-governance and development of geospatial data infrastructure,
worth 35.1 million euros, will begin at the end of this month.
