"The National Assembly of Republic of Srpska is the
pillar of upholding the Republic of Srpska which in its legislative capacity adopted all decisions by means of which the Republic of Srpska has safeguarded its
sovereignty, economic strength and all other vitally important elements", stated Savo Minić, Prime Minister of Republika Srpska in Pale today.
Prime Minister Minić pointed out that the proceedings
before the Court of BiH against President Milorad Dodik initiated because he
signed a decree promulgating a law passed by the National Assembly represented the clearest example of the attack on the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska.
"Just imagine the nature of this attack on the
Assembly and the institution of the President of the Republic: there is no
other state on Earth, nor any other social or political system where a President, who has a constitutional authority to sign a decision adopted
by the National Assembly, had been punished for acting so", Prime
Minister Minić said at the press conference held to mark the 35th anniversary of the
founding of the National Assembly.
Prime Minister Minić expressed his gratitude to all
the deputies who had been members of the first convocation on October 24, 1991, and who
understood that it was essential for the Serb people to identify and unite within the Assembly of the Serbian People of BiH, which is
precisely what took place at that time.
The Prime Minister emphasized that all members of the National Assembly and all Presidents of Republic of Srpska carried a huge burden.
"They were all persecuted throughout all this time. This is
sufficiently demonstrated by the fact that we recently had a decision of the
Court of BiH that convicted Milorad Dodik as President of
Republic of Srpska, despite all valid laws in BiH, because he signed a
decree on promulgation of a law passed by the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska", Prime Minister Minić said.
The Prime Minister said that he would like to see all sessions of the National Assembly
in the future would be dignified and that all deputies would be the voice of
the Serbian people of the entire of Republic of Srpska.
As part of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of
the founding of Republic of Srpska, Prime Minister Minić and other high officials of the Republic of Srpska laid a wreath at
the monument on the Square of the Founders of the Republic of Srpska in Pale.
