Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic met today (9 August 2018) with local authorities of the municipality of Srbac.
Prime Minister Cvijanovic stated during the meeting that the Government of Republic of Srpska provided BAM 1.5 million this year for implementation of significant infrastructure projects in the area of Srbac municipality.
"We are already implementing several projects and expect other projects to be launched. We mobilized funds from public investments and the clearing and a part is set from the Government support program and we already have the opportunity to implement projects in municipalities across the Republic of Srpska", Prime Minister said and added that additional BAM 600,000 to 700,000 from IPA funds have been provided with the aim of improving living standards and local infrastructure as well as rural development.
"We are dealing with the consequences of the floods. We are providing financial assistance and waiting for an estimate of the damages incurred by the latest floods which refers to agriculture and the households. It remains for us to compensate the affected households for which 50,000 would be used and the total frame for agriculture is higher than BAM 100,000 KM", Prime Minister Cvijanovic said.
The Prime Minister further underlined the importance of improving the economic environment and creation of new jobs.
"The municipality of Srbac is burdened with certain inherited problems and considering the fact that the financial situation is better now and that there are no problems with regard to fulfillment of budgetary obligations, the Government can now free 120 million BAM for investments in the municipalities and Srbac is one of those municipalities. Therefore, I believe things will be better in the future", Prime Minister President Cvijanovic said.
The Mayor of Srbac, Mladjan Dragosavljevic, emphasized that some open issues related to the functioning of the municipality have been discussed during the meeting.
"We have the support of the Government of the Republic of Srpska in resolving issues related to the development of our local community. We have the promise of the Prime Minister that assistance will be sent to households who have been affected by the latest floods which will be very fast", the Mayor of Srbac said.
During the visit to this municipality, Prime Minister Cvijanovic visited the construction site where the works on the arrangement of the city center were done and for which the Government of Serbia allocated BAM 160,000.
