Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic and the Mayor of Banja Luka Igor Radojicic marked the official beginning of the second phase of the works on reconstruction of the Banski Dvor Cultural Center. The Government of the Republic of Srpska allocated BAM 2.5 million for that purpose.
Prime Minister Cvijanovic expressed her satisfaction that the reconstruction proceeded in phases and was now being implemented what has been identified as a need and an idea long since.
"It is important that things are being done and finalized in certain stages. We have already created programs related to complete internal reorganization which would include extensive works", the Prime Minister said and added that the Government's support would be available for the internal refurbishment as well.
"I expect that the works will be completed within the stipulated deadline. Even if they are not, it is important to see the Banski Dvor fully redecorated in its utmost beauty. A complete reconstruction will definitely be completed by the end of the next year. We will all be proud of such Banski Dvor in Banja Luka," Prime Minister Cvijanovic said.
Mayor of Banja Luka, Igor Radojičić, said that the Banski dvor, one of the urban symbols of Banja Luka, the city center and the culture was entering the second phase of reconstruction today.
He reminded that the Government provided BAM 2.5 million for its reconstruction and added that the first phase was completed which included roof replacement that protected the Banski Dvor from further deterioration since roof leakage caused great damage of the interior space in the past.
"Today we are entering the second phase of reconstruction which includes replacement of carpentry, façade, sculptures, balconies, stone, access, staircase and ambient lighting. The deadline for carrying out the works is five months, but since we are entering the winter period, it is realistic to expect prolongation of works. I would like to see the Banski Dvor renovated for the Day of the City of Banja Luka on April 22, 2019", Mayor Radojicic said.
Director of Cultural Center Banski Dvor Mladen Matović said that this was a is historical day for this institution but also for the culture and arts of the Republic of Srpska because the basic precondition for the Banski Dvor to function in its full capacity was its fundamental reconstruction and refurbishment.
The deadline for completing the second phase of the reconstruction of the Cultural Center Banski Dvor is six months.
