Better water supply and sanitation through implementation of projects in 15 local communities in Republic of Srpska

Subsidiary Agreement for implementation of the Grant Agreement between BiH and the European Investment Bank related to the project "Water Supply and Sanitation Republika Srpska II", was signed today in Banja Luka. The value of the grant is 16.75 million euros.

The Agreement signed by the Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers Srđan Amidžić and the Minister of Finance of Republic of  Srpska Zora Vidović is financed with a loan of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The "Water and Sanitation Republika Srpska II" project includes 29 investments in 15 local communities and refers to the improvement of water supply and sanitation infrastructure and rainwater systems in the length of over 255 kilometers.

These are the projects in Doboj, Gradiška, Laktaši, Prijedor, Prnjavor, Teslić, Trebinje, Vukosavlje, Rogatica, Nevesinje, Istocna Ilidža, Novi Grad, Milići, Čelinac and Zvornik.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Savo Minić pointed out that the projects would provide better quality water supply and better living conditions for over 165,000 citizens and praised the representatives of these local communities for keeping pace with the needs of citizens.

"Everything that Republic of Srpska has done internationally in the last few months and the year, has led to many projects being opened on very favorable terms", Prime Minister Minić said, adding that all of this contributes to increasing the investment cycle of Republic of Srpska. 

"Republika Srpska is becoming one big construction site", Prime Minister Minić emphasized.
