The agreement on the
transfer of rights to concession for exploitation of coal at the
"Ugljevik East 2" deposit was signed today in Ugljevik, transferring
the concession from the company "Comsar Energy Republika Srpska" to
the subsidiary "Rudnik i termoelektrana Ugljevik“, a.d. Ugljevik (engl. 'Mine and Thermal Power
Plant' Ugljevik).
The agreement was signed
by the Minister of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska, Petar Đokić on
behalf of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the representative of the
company "Comsar Energy Republika Srpska" Aleksandar Lozo and the
director of RiTE "Ugljevik" Žarko Novaković.
The signing of the
contract was preceded by a decision of the Government of the Republic of Srpska
which issued consent to the transfer of the concession contract from the
previous concessionaire "Comsar Energy Republika Srpska" d.o.o. Banja
Luka to the Mixed Holding “Power Utility
of the Republic of Srpska" - Parent Company a.d. Trebinje, i.e. its
subsidiary "Rudnik i Termoelektrana Ugljevik" a.d. Ugljevik.
As previously announced
by RiTE "Ugljevik", this contract represents a significant step
towards ensuring long-term stability and uninterrupted operation of the mine
and thermal power plant. The concession field "Ugljevik East 2"
provides sufficient quantities of coal for the operation of the thermal power
plant for the next 20 years.
