The
Government of Republic of Srpska hled today its 31st session during which it adopted a report about the financial
assistance required by sports organizations within the Brčko District of BiH.
The Government tasked the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Family, Youth
and Sports with providing financial aid in the amount of BAM 200,000.00.
There are over one hundred sports clubs within the Brčko District of BiH, competing across all age categories throughout
Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, only eleven of them have aligned their governing documents with the new
Law on Sport of Republic of Srpska, thereby becoming eligible for funding from
the Ministry.
Given that the allocated funds for co-financing the
regular, preparatory and competitive activities of these sports organizations
are insufficient, many of them are facing significant challenges in performing their activities. Clubs from this area serve as vital pillars for preserving the
Serbian language, tradition, and culture as well as the spirit of
sportsmanship, within a multi-ethnic community that is of critical importance
to Republic of Srpska. The majority of active members in the aforementioned
sports organizations fall under youngest categories;
consequently, investing in the development of their motor skills represents a
direct investment for Republic of Srpska.
The Government of Republic of Srpska adopted a
Decision granting approval for the use of funds derived from the VAT refunds within
the framework of the Western Balkans Drina River Basin Water Management
Project.
Funds in the amount of 233,283.03 will be used to
cover electricity costs at pumping stations for irrigation systems, which had been funded by the Agricultural Projects Coordination Unit within the Ministry of
Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, as well as to cover the operational
costs of the Unit itself.
The Government also adopted a Decision granting approval
for the use of funds derived from the VAT refunds under the Agriculture Resilience
and Competitiveness Project. These funds are to be used for co-financing
project activities, procuring goods, services and construction works for rural
infrastructure and for covering the operational costs of the Agricultural Projects
Coordination Unit within the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water
Management.
The procurement of goods, works and services will be
carried out by either the local self-government units or the Coordination Unit.
In cases where procurement is conducted by a local self-government unit, the
Coordination Unit will transfer the necessary funds for the payment of the
procured goods, works and services in accordance with the instructions provided
by that local self-government unit.
The Government of Republika Srpska adopted
the Information on participation of its representatives in drafting of
the Strategy for Combating Organized Crime in BiH for the 2027–2030 period and
issued a Decision appointing members from Republic of Srpska to the Working Group
for drafting of that Strategy.
