The Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship performs administrative and other professional tasks related to:

• construction materials industry,
• metalworking activity, mechanical engineering, production of transport vehicles, shipbuilding, production of electrical machines and devices,
• defence production,
• production of rubber and plastic products,
• industrial wood processing,
• manufacturing final wood products,
• paper production and processing,
• rubber processing,
• graphic art activity,
• production of textile yarns and fabrics,
• production of finished textile products,
• leather and fur production,
• production of leather footwear and leather accessories,
• collection and primary processing of industrial waste,
• development and implementation of policies with stimulating measures and direct contacts with interested investors;
• encouraging the investment of funds by interested persons in domestic companies in the field of industry,
• monitoring the effect of economic policy measures on the movement of industrial production and by individual branches and enterprises of importance,
• participation in the drafting and adoption of technical regulations from departmental competences and their harmonisation with EU legislation (acquis communautaire),
• strategies and laws aimed at encouraging the development and promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises (hereinafter: SMEs) and entrepreneurship,
• regulation of the performance of craft-entrepreneurial activities, preparation of informative and analytical documents in this field,
• reporting on the implementation of those documents,
• reporting on the progress achieved in this area (EU Act on SMEs, European integration and similar),
• support for the building and strengthening of institutional infrastructure for the development and promotion of SMEs and entrepreneurship in the Republic,
• providing administrative support to the work of the Council for the Development of SMEs and Entrepreneurship of the Republic,
• planning and implementation of procedures related to incentive funds for the development and promotion of SMEs and entrepreneurship,
• support for the construction of entrepreneurial and business infrastructure in the Republic (business zones, free zones, incubators, technology parks, innovation centres, clusters and other),
• support for the preservation of old crafts in the Republic,
• support for the development of women's and social entrepreneurship, candidacy and participation in the implementation of projects financed from the funds of the European Union and other sources,
• cooperation with relevant institutions from business and entrepreneurship,
• formation of a database and registries in the field of SMEs and entrepreneurship, establishment of an entrepreneurial portal;
• tasks related to the preparation of the strategy and legal framework for attracting foreign investments to the Republic;
• coordination of activities to attract foreign investments with local self-government units;
• post-investment support for domestic and foreign investors; promoting the economic potential of the Republic abroad;
• export promotion;
• monitoring and management of websites intended for foreign investors and export promotion;
• maintaining a database on foreign investors in the Republic and a registry of incentives in the economy;
• normative regulation of the regulatory impact assessment process;
• giving opinions on drafts, i.e. proposals for regulations on the implementation of impact assessment methodology;
• strengthening the capacity of regulatory processors in this field;
• implementation of the full methodology process of the regulatory impact assessment in cooperation with competent institutions;
• monitoring and analysing the investment environment and proposing measures for its improvement with the aim of creating a favourable business environment for domestic and foreign investors;
• proposing measures to simplify administrative procedures and actions for the purpose of facilitating and reducing business costs in cooperation with competent institutions and the business sector;
• maintaining and updating records on business procedures and formalities, as well as the electronic Single Point of Contact for business website;
• participation in the preparation of international contracts and agreements on cooperation in the field of economic relations, drafting of legal acts and bylaws within the competence of the Ministry and other tasks in accordance with the law.
