 Activities of Ministry based on laws and regulations of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina​ are:

• active participation in preparation and drafting of laws within its jurisdiction;
•  provision of expert opinion on legal projects at the request of other ministries;
• adoption of bylaws necessary for law enforcement;
• preparation of the rulebook on exam for Bankruptcy Manager;​

• assistance in training of judges and prosecutors and tasks related to the work of the Public Attorney, attorneys and other legal services;
  
•  communication with the International Crime Tribunal in The Hague in accordance with the law;
• administrative and other professional tasks related to taking bar examination, the exam for the bankruptcy manager and the notary exam;
• processing of the requests from domestic and foreign courts and other government agencies for the provision of legal aid, provision of expertise views  on international treaties related to extension of legal aid in civil law and criminal justice;
•  provision of information to the media about the work of the Ministry and other duties in accordance with laws and regulations of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.​
