IVANOVO OBLAST – The Minister of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska, Prof. Draga Mastilović PhD, met today with the Governor of Ivanovo Oblast, Stanislav Sergeyevich Voskresensky, to discuss improving cooperation in the fields of education, science and technological development.
During the meeting, particular attention was given to the possibility of establishing even stronger cooperation between universities and scientific research institutions, including the exchange of students, academic staff and researchers. Opportunities for organising scientific conferences and specialised professional development programmes were also considered, as these would contribute to strengthening academic ties and facilitating the exchange of knowledge.
Minister Mastilović stated that Ivanovo Oblast represents one of the key partners of the Republic of Srpska in the fields of education and scientific and technological development.
"Educational cooperation between the Ivanovo Oblast and the Republic of Srpska is currently experiencing significant expansion, partly due to the considerable support provided by the Governor of the Ivanovo Oblast for joint educational, cultural and scientific projects that our countries have been implementing for years, all with the aim of connecting our regions and strengthening the foundations of Russian–Balkan friendship," Mastilović emphasised.
He added that this visit is not only a recognition of diplomatic respect for our Russian friends, but also a clear signal of the direction chosen by the Republic of Srpska.
"We see our future in cooperation with the Russian Federation, and we have been consistently pursuing this for many years. This meeting represents an important step towards deepening cooperation and opening up new opportunities for our students, researchers and the academic community as a whole. Together, we will continue to work not only on inter-university cooperation, but also on cultural and educational projects aimed at preserving historical memory. We will strive jointly to resist attempts to falsify history, including by engaging younger generations," the minister added.
Governor Voskresensky expressed his satisfaction with the visit of the delegation from the Republic of Srpska, stressing that the Ivanovo Oblast, which has a rich academic tradition and a well-developed scientific research sector, will always remain a reliable partner in the implementation of joint projects.
"We are open to all forms of cooperation that contribute to the exchange of knowledge and experience. We believe that, through concrete projects, we can achieve even more visible and significant results and contribute to the further development of education and science both in the Republic of Srpska and in the Ivanovo Oblast ," Voskresensky stated.
