Minister Željko Budimir PhD spoke today at a meeting titled "The Concept, Significance, and Goal of Developing the Qualifications Framework of the Republic of Srpska," attended by representatives from relevant institutions, associations, and organisations in the fields of education, labour, and employment.

"Regarding the Republic of Srpska's competence in education, this is one of the most important tasks we will undertake in the upcoming period. All institutions related to this issue must be involved with specific tasks" – emphasised Minister Budimir.

He highlighted the importance of linking the economy and education for mutual benefit.

Assistant Minister for Higher Education, Jelena Starčević, stressed the importance of adopting the Qualifications Framework of the Republic of Srpska, as it represents a clear and transparent tool for reliably defining and classifying all qualifications offered in the educational space of the Republic of Srpska.

It will enable more transparent education, greater employment opportunities, and better recognition of qualifications in the labour market, as well as the creation of curricula and study programmes that can fully meet the needs of the labour market – emphasised Starčević.

The next step after today's meeting is the formation of a working group to draft the law on the Qualifications Framework of the Republic of Srpska, which will define further steps such as the establishment of sector councils responsible for the development of qualification standards and occupational standards.
