An international training school in computational chemistry, Applications in Scientific Research, was successfully held at the University of Banja Luka on 11 and 12 June 2026, organised within the framework of COST Action CA21101 COSY.

The school brought together more than 30 participants and lecturers from the Republic of Srpska, BiH, and numerous European countries. The programme focused on contemporary advances in computational chemistry, cheminformatics, molecular modelling, and the application of artificial intelligence in scientific research.

The organisation of this important international event is the result of the continuous strengthening of research capacities and international cooperation through initiatives and projects supported by the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Srpska. The training school further contributed to strengthening links between researchers from the Republic of Srpska and European research networks, while also promoting the domestic scientific community within the international research environment.

The Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska will continue to support activities that contribute to the advancement of science, the internationalisation of research, and the participation of domestic researchers in European programmes and projects.
