Assistant Minister for Scientific and Technological Development Zoran Bjelajac and the Director of the Scientific and Technological Park of the Republic of Srpska, Nikola Dragović, visited "Technopark Saint Petersburg" and discussed technological achievements with the hosts to transfer experiences for the implementation of a scientific and technological park in Srpska.

The General Director of "Technopark Saint Petersburg", Oleg Yakimov, acquainted the guests from the Republic of Srpska with new projects and the development of the Technopark, laboratories, and the most modern equipment.

A platform for demonstrating the capabilities of Russian infrastructure software and hardware-software systems in all IT fields was presented, along with a unique micro reactor for various types of chemical compound synthesis, a 3D printer developed at the Technopark, and the work of the engineering centre for radio-electronic instrumentation in the field of flexible electronics.

According to the Assistant Minister for Scientific and Technological Development of the Republic of Srpska, Zoran Bjelajac, the cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Srpska can be beneficial not only in the context of technological innovations but also politically: as an opportunity to participate in the development of the innovation sector at the westernmost point of the Balkan Peninsula and to build relationships with Balkan countries.

"Energy and information technologies remain very important areas of potential development for us. We are interested in the experience of Russian experts in reengineering projects due to the great dependence of the republic's technologies and production on the West," Bjelajac emphasized.

The Director of the Scientific and Technological Park of the Republic of Srpska, Nikola Dragović, stated that the business incubator of the Technopark was particularly interesting.

"About 80 per cent of startups in the Republic do not survive the five-year period, while in 'Technopark Saint Petersburg', 70 per cent of the projects of the Business Incubator residents become successful businesses. We are at the very beginning of creating our own technological park. We are impressed with how the technological ecosystem is implemented in 'Technopark Saint Petersburg' and we are grateful to our Russian colleagues for their expert assistance," said Dragović.

During the meeting, it was agreed to form a Working Group for interaction within the framework of the Agreement between "Technopark Saint Petersburg" and the Government of the Republic of Srpska. The first step is to create and sign the "Roadmap".
