The universities of Banja Luka and Istočno Sarajevo, along with the Science and Technology Park of the Republic of Srpska, presented their projects today at the International Fair of Technology and Technical Achievements in Belgrade.

The Republic of Srpska presented its achievements as the guest of honour within the exhibition of the Serbian Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, as part of the thematic section "Play for Humanity! Science for All – Technology and Innovation Shape the Future."

Zoran Bjelajac stated that it is a special honour for the Republic of Srpska to participate in such an important fair in Belgrade and to be the guest of honour at the exhibition of the Serbian Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation.

"The company 'Digitalni Ozon' presented a smart agriculture project, our PhD candidate Đorđe Lekić from Banja Luka is presenting a project within his doctoral dissertation, and we also have stands from the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska and the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Banja Luka," he said.

He assessed that cooperation between the institutions of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska in the fields of economy, innovation, science, and technology is excellent, based on the Agreement on Special Parallel Relations.

"We have significant support from Serbia, and our university stand has a prominent place today at this fair," he added.

Director of the Science and Technology Park of the Republic of Srpska Nikola Dragović stated that the fact that the Republic of Srpska has been given a central location for its presentation shows that it has much to offer.

Senior assistant at the University of Istočno Sarajevo Nikola Kukrić said that the university is presenting projects developed in cooperation with the company "Digitalni Ozon."

These projects relate to the digitalisation of agriculture across various sectors, from livestock farming to greenhouse production.

"We have successfully developed devices that have found their way onto the market, including systems for automated climate control in greenhouses," he said.

He expressed hope that new contacts would be established at the fair and that successful solutions developed in the Republic of Srpska would be expanded to Serbia.

Đorđe Lekić from the Department of Electrical Power Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka presented a project developed as part of his doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, under the supervision of academician Slobodan Vukosavić.

"It is a software tool used for designing electric motors, which has been verified through the production of a prototype tested in laboratories at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka," he said.
