14th Science Festival on May 21st and 22nd

The 14th Science Festival will be held on May 21st and 22nd this year, organised by the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska.

As in previous years, the Festival will take place at two locations: the University Campus and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of the University of Banja Luka (Mladena Stojanovića 2, Banja Luka).

The central event of the Festival will be a large-scale exhibition of scientific experiments, open on both days from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Sports Hall of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at the University of Banja Luka (Campus). Visitors will have the opportunity to see more than one hundred experiments, scientific demonstrations and other interactive exhibits designed to promote science in an engaging and accessible way.

"Playful Marbles", "Magnetic Mysteries", "Light in Focus", "How to See Sound", "How to Hear a Picture", "How Rainbows Are Formed", "Monster in a Glass", "How to Make a Fountain", "Secret Workers in the Soil", "Do Parasites Rule the World?", "The Secrets of DNA", "A Journey into the Microworld of Bacteria and Fungi", "Chemical Volcano", "Golden Rain", "Artificial Blood", "Nature's Pharmacy", "Magic Milk", "Life in a Drop of Water", "The Eight Queens Problem", "Invisible Flowers", "Elephant Toothpaste", "A Hand in Flames", "Slavic Superheroes", "Invisible Ink", and "Tesla's Transformer" are just some of the attractions featured in this year's exhibition programme.

At the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, visitors will also be able to explore the planetarium, aquarium and terrarium. In addition, a series of workshops will be organised across the faculties of the University of Banja Luka as part of the Festival programme.

Workshops include "Anatomy Class", "Little Gardeners", a workshop on stage movement and performance games, "Diplomat for a Day", "Human Rights for Future Generations", "Let Us Elect You", "AI Agents for Beginners", "Reporters Without Borders", "Reasons for Happiness", "How to Become a Social Researcher", "Quiz Auntie", "Learned Helplessness", "In Someone Else's Shoes: Understanding and Recognising Emotions", and "Creative Writing", among many others.

More than 20 faculties from the universities of Banja Luka and Istočno Sarajevo will take part in this year's Festival, alongside the Institute of Genetic Resources, the Public Health Institute of the Republic of Srpska, the Police Administration of the Ministry of the Interior, and several secondary schools.
