Computer Emergency Response Team is a special organizational unit for acting in emergencies, whose task is to handle computer security incidents, coordinate the prevention and protection of information systems. Within the Ministry is the only functional CERT in the Republic of Srpska and BiH - CERT RS.

CERT RS was founded in 2011 as an organizational unit of the Agency for Information Society, under the name Department for Information Security. With the enactment of the new Law on Republic Administration ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska", No. 115/18), CERT RS becomes an organizational unit in the Ministry.

CERT RS continuously monitors the cyberspace of the Republic of Srpska and protects the information systems of the republic authorities, as well as processes computer and security incidents. Since October 2019, CERT RS has been a listed member of the international association of CERTs under the name Trusted Introducer.
