​The Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education performs administrative and other professional tasks related to: scientific and technological development and improvement of higher education, as well as creation and monitoring of strategies in mentioned fields; upgrading and encouraging development of fundamental developmental applied researches; encouraging innovation and economic development by use of new technologies; higher education and student standard;  compliance of educational policy with global technological trends; the academic and research network of the Republic of Srpska; promotion of the use of new technologies; administrative supervision in the field of information and communication technologies, preparation of laws and by-laws within the competence of the Ministry; participation in the implementation of projects financed by international financial organizations; providing information through the media and other forms of information about their work and other tasks in accordance with the law.
