Објављено:

The Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, attended today (18 June 2024) at the Administrative Centre of the Republic of Srpska Government in Banja Luka, a lecture by the Minister of European Integration in the Government of Serbia, Tanja Miščević, on screening, as a recently started phase within European integration, which precedes EU accession negotiations.

On this occasion, Klokić stated readiness for carrying out the entire screening exercise with quality from start to finish.

'We are working intensively on capacity strengthening of representatives of the republic administrative bodies through training. In this sense, we expect great assistance from the Serbian Ministry of European Integration, and this lecture is only a continuation of our excellent cooperation. Our representatives are ready to undergo training on accession negotiations and screening, and I am pleased to see the Minister, together with her associates, share selflessly the experiences of Serbia, which has walked the road that we are yet to face,' said Klokić.

During the lecture, Miščević said that the Serbian Ministry of European Integration remained at the disposal of the staff of the Republic of Srpska Government and European Integration Ministry for all support in the future process of BiH negotiations with the European Union.

The addresses of the Minister and her associates were intended primarily for the Republic of Srpska Government officers working on the European integration process. Members of the working groups within the BiH European integration process coordination system from the Republic of Srpska were given the opportunity to look at Serbian experiences, with a focus being exclusively on the screening phase.

Screening is an analysis of legislation conformity with the European Union acquis and consists of an examination of the legislation of the EU accession candidate country. This activity is carried out through meetings with European Commission representatives on individual EU acquis chapters. Meeting the opening benchmarks set by the European Commission is expected to lead to the opening of the first chapters.

Miščević is on a working visit to Banja Luka and she met with Klokić in his office before the lecture.
