Solar energy is a huge prospect for the Republic of Srpska, said the Minister of European Integration and International Cooperation of the Republic of Srpska, Zlatan Klokić, today in Banja Luka.

At the Balkan Solar Summit regional conference on renewable energy sources, Klokić said that the Republic of Srpska's potential was not sufficiently exploited, but that he was proud of projects such as the construction of the Dabar Hydropower Plant and other electricity projects that guarantee energy stability.

He stated that energy transition involved multiple institutions bringing solutions, as well as professional and academic community and investors, which was why the Balkan Solar Summit was the place where it was possible to create solutions that would enable long-term energy stability of the Republic of Srpska.

'This summit has become a regional platform that provides solutions on the direction of the energy transition, with a special focus on renewable energy sources, primarily solar energy,' Klokić told reporters.

The regional conference on renewable energy sources Balkan Solar Summit began today in Banja Luka, focusing on developing a sustainable energy system and strengthening regional cooperation.

The conference is expected to bring together more than 400 experts, industry leaders, investors and key stakeholders over two days with the aim of creating specific solutions aligned with regional and European standards, positioning the Balkan Solar Summit as a central place for dialogue on the energy transition in the region.
