​Main activities of the Ministry:

•    coordination of economic activities abroad,  programming and development of the long-term and foreign trade exchange,
•    preparing, conclusion and performance of international trading and goods agreements;
•    organizing of work of economic representative offices abroad and mixed commissions of the RS representatives and other bodies for economic, scientific-technical and other kinds of cooperation with foreign countries;
•    operation of subjects that perform economic activities abroad;
•    operations related to succession of former SFRY and protection of interests of industrial subjects from the Republic of Srpska;
•    monitoring and coordination of activities, which are the obligation of RS, at fulfilling of requirements for accession into the European integrations through establishing of the single economic space, with the final goal of Bosnia and Herzegovina becoming an equal member of the European Union; 
•    presenting of information on its work through media and other means of information, and performs other works in accordance with the Law and other regulations of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
