Educational process in the Republic of Srpska starts with pre-school education.

There are 88 pre-school facilities registered in the Republic of Srpska, 41 public and and 47 private facilities. Around 14 percent of children in the Republic of Srpska are included in the organized pre-school education.

Pre-school education is organized in groups for children who are from six months old to three years of age and in groups of children who are from three years old up to the school age. The funds necessary for implementation of pre-school programs and development of pre-school facilities are facilitated by the founder. 

The goal of the Government of the Republic of Srpska is to include as many children as possible in the pre-school education in order to instigate physical and intelectual development of children and their communication skills and creativity. ​​​
