​The Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska have made it possible for all interested parents to submit an electronic application for children to enroll the first grade of primary school by using the Internet platform eUpis. Those parents who do not want to use the information technology can still register children and submit documents to school in person - as was the previous practice.

Minister Željka Stojičić stressed that in the first 30 days of the campaign, exactly 6,750 children were registered for enrollment in the first grade of primary school through the online platform eUpis, and that the interest of parents was also high the previous year.

"During 2023, about 80 percent of parents whose children were enrolled in Grade 1 registered their children for enrollment in school by using the online platform eUpis. Parents who register their children at school still need to take the documents from the appropriate institution and submit them to school such as a Birth Certificate, Certificate of Citizenship and Certificate of Residence. Electronic registration of children on eUpis is an ease for parents because they do not have to go in person to different institutions to collect all the necessary documents. They can do all this with one click through the portal https://eupis.skolers.org/ at any time from home or any other location", said Minister Željka Stojičić.

She added that parents of pupils who do not use computers or mobile phones in the best way can still register their children directly at school.

"It is important to emphasize that the eUpis makes it easier for parents to register faster their children for enrollment.  It is also a help for local government units because they do not have to print documents from electronic databases. It is easier for school because the school administration does not have to retype the data in the eDiary", said Minister Željka Stojičić

The online platform for the pupils' enrollment is available to all interested parents of future first-year pupils on the website https://eupis.skolers.org/ through which the registration of children for enrollment lasts until 31 March, 2024. The registration began on February 1 of this year. The site can be accessed by using any Internet-enabled device such as a computer, tablet or mobile phone. Upon successful registration, the school's pupil enrollment committee will contact the parents and inform them on the children's enrollment and testing terms as well as on other important information.

Enrollment of children in the 1st grade of elementary school takes place in April and May of the current year.
