The Government of Republic of Srpska held on 16 April
its 67th regular session in the Administrative Center of the
Government in Banja Luka.
The Government of Republika Srpska adopted the
Proposal of an Instruction on Monitoring, Evaluation and Assessment of
Primary and Secondary School Students in Distance Learning.
Minister of Education and Culture Natalija Trivic stated that the school year would last until mid-June.
"Since the students were already graded at the
end of the first semester and most of them had at least one grade in the
second semester, the Ministry of Education and Culture has in accordance with the provisions of Amendments to the Law on Primary and Secondary Education proposed this instruction to the Government", Minister Trivic said and added that students would be assessed after distance teaching and that their engagement in communication and interactivity
would be evaluated primarily through short written tests, essay writing or
audio and video presentations.
"It is very important that teachers keep a record
of each student's work. If students are dissatisfied with assessment of their
knowledge in this way, they will be able to take a class examination before the
committee", the Minister of Education and Culture said.
According to Minister Trivić, health of students is the
priority in this situation.
"Students and teachers welcomed the introduction
of new technologies that enabled them online teaching. The combination of
traditional teaching and use of digital technologies will guide us at the
beginning of the new school year", Minister of Education and Culture of Republic of Srpska Natalija
Trivic said.
